Helen is the Associate Director for Cities at BRE responsible for leading the development of services to help cities grow while achieving the best outcomes for people, place and the planet. She was formerly the BREEAM Communities Manager at BRE, responsible for the development, evaluation and delivery of this sustainable masterplanning standard.
With a background in planning and sustainable communities, Helen is interested in multi-disciplinary approaches to tackling the complex challenges facing cities. Her current work focuses on bringing diverse professionals together to integrate knowledge and data to inform policy and decision-making.
Prior to working for BRE, Helen worked as a consultant for the Planning Advisory Service and Local Government Association, supporting local authority planners and politicians. Her focus involved policy development and leadership training in the areas of climate change, energy, health and sustainable design and construction.
She is a Member of the Town and Country Planning Association and Associate Member Royal Town Planning Institute.
